Bio
Kenny Clark, a Nashville based singer/songwriter is notorious around music city for his songs of blues, romance and humor, often times all of the above are rolled into one  composition. He is also known for his style of guitar playing which incorporates the use of Palm Pedals, an idea he borrowed from the inventer and long time friend Boomer Castleman.
Kenny is also lead guitar player for the Nashville based group; NASHVILLE RASH, a radical country rock band, that puts a type of drive and groove to their style of country music that is known as "rash".
Kenny, a native of North Carolina, grew up in the foothills where he was always exposed to live music. His father, the late Ken Clark, was a well known country artist and his grandfather Ben Clark was a banjo and guitar player as was his great-grandfather Bob Clark and his great great grandfather Joel Clark. Joel, a Confederate soldier, carried his banjo throughout the Civil War. That same banjo is still in the family and was recently used on Todd Pons' bluegrass album. Todd is also a descendent of Joel. So Kenny has quite the Americana background.
Kenny starting playing the guitar when he was nine and that same year performed in a school play in front of a large audience. He was then hooked on performing. When he was eleven, there was a jingle playing on a local radio station that Kenny wrote and played guitar on. By the time Kenny was thirteen he played lead guitar  in his fathers band. As time went by, Kenny joined a rock band called "STAINED GLASS" that played  resort venues, and local clubs. Although the other members of the band were older, Kenny was only fifteen. He was seventeen when the band split up, and Kenny became involved in the bluegrass scene in North Carolina. Studying the flatpicking style of Doc Watson, Kenny played several years with Gary McCurry's band and later formed the long time admired bluegrass gospel group, The BLUEGRASS GOSPEL TRIO, with Scott and David Lane.  A three piece bluegrass band is rare but these guys could pour it on. With Kenny's combination of slap rhythm and bass lines on guitar, along with David's wizardry banjo style and Scotts' flaming mandolin, these guys brought joy to proclamation of GOD's message. But Kenny went on the road with his music. His travels took him to the Carolina coast, where he played the beach clubs as lead guitar player for Kathy Bass. (now Kathy Covert Jensen) and later to Hawaii where he played lead guitar in the locally renown "BREEZE BAND".
His aspirations were calling him to Nashville, so he finally made it here, and we hope he is here to stay. While in Nashville he built and operated Cadillac Tracks recording studio on music row for five years and later moved it out to Watertown to escape the traffic, crime, and parking problems faced with being on the row. The studio remains there  today. He has worked with the late Waylon Jennings and Stonewall Jackson on "Stonewall and Friends" album. Also co-wrote a composition with the late Vern Gosdin. He was also lead singer and rhythm guitar player for The REALBILLIES and later formed  the band called NASHVILLE RASH.
